Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how VietTS CO., LTD ("VietTS", "we", "us") handles information when you use the VPN Lite app for iPhone and iPad (the "App") and this website. VietTS is the developer of the App and is responsible for the data described here. You can reach us at support@vietts.io.
The short version
- There is no account. We never ask for your name, email, phone number, contacts or precise location.
- We do not log, sell, use or share the websites you visit, the content of your traffic or your DNS queries.
- We collect a small amount of technical data: anonymous crash reports, basic app analytics, problem reports you choose to send, and the data Google AdMob needs to show non-personalized ads while the VPN is off.
- The VPN servers belong to the public VPN Gate network, are run by volunteers, and keep their own connection logs. They are not operated by VietTS.

1. Our commitment as a VPN provider
VietTS does not sell, use or disclose to third parties, for any purpose, any data about your activity through the VPN. This includes the websites and apps you use while connected, the content of your traffic, your DNS queries, and the times you connect or disconnect. The App does not inspect, record or modify the traffic that passes through the VPN tunnel.
The limited technical data described in section 2 is collected by the App itself, outside the VPN tunnel. It is used only for the purposes listed in this policy.
2. Information we collect
| What | When | Why | Processed by |
|---|---|---|---|
| Crash reports: stack trace, device model, iOS version, app version and a random installation identifier | When the App crashes, if “Send Crash Reports” is on in Settings | To find and fix bugs | Google Firebase Crashlytics |
| App analytics: a random app-instance identifier, device model, iOS version, approximate country derived from the IP address, app opens and ad-revenue events | While you use the App | To understand overall usage and measure ad revenue | Google Analytics for Firebase |
| Ad data: IP address, device model, iOS version, app information and ad interactions (views, clicks) | Only while the VPN is off, when an ad is requested | To show non-personalized ads, limit how often you see them, and prevent ad fraud | Google AdMob |
| Server problem reports: the reason you choose, an optional note you write, the VPN server's hostname, IP address and country, your device region setting and the time | Only when you tap “Report a Problem” and send it | To find and stop recommending broken servers | VietTS |
| Ad reports: the reason you choose, the advertiser name, your device region setting and the time | Only when you report an ad | To block bad or misleading ads | VietTS |
| App integrity key: a random key identifier and public key created by Apple's App Attest on your device | When the App downloads the server list | To confirm requests come from the genuine App and protect the service from abuse | VietTS, with Apple |
| Technical request data: IP address, time and requested address | When the App contacts our servers | Rate limiting and security | VietTS |
None of this information is linked to your name, email or any account, because the App has none. Problem reports and ad reports never contain your own IP address or the sites you visited.
3. Information that stays on your device
Some features need information that never leaves your iPhone or iPad:
- Wi-Fi network names: read to show your current network and to remember the networks you mark as trusted for auto-protect. They are stored only on your device and are never sent to us.
- Settings and history: your default location, last used country, measured latency, connection time and data used. These are shown in the App, widgets and Live Activities and stay on your device.
- VPN configuration: iOS stores the VPN configuration you allow when you first connect.
Deleting the App removes this data from your device.
4. Information we never collect
- Browsing history, visited websites or apps, DNS queries, or the content of your traffic
- Name, email address, phone number, contacts, photos or messages
- Precise location. The App does not ask for location permission.
- The advertising identifier (IDFA). The App does not ask for permission to track you.
- Payment information. The App has no purchases.
5. VPN servers (VPN Gate)
The App connects you to servers of the VPN Gate public VPN relay network, an academic project of the University of Tsukuba, Japan. These servers are run by volunteers around the world. They are not owned or operated by VietTS, and VietTS is not affiliated with VPN Gate.
- Your traffic is encrypted between your device and the VPN server. After it leaves the server, it travels to its destination like any other internet traffic. Use websites with HTTPS for sensitive information.
- VPN Gate and the server operators keep connection logs under their own policies. These logs may include your IP address and connection times. See VPN Gate's policy.
- A VPN hides your IP address from the sites you visit and protects you on untrusted networks. It does not make you anonymous.
To build the server list, VietTS collects public information about VPN Gate servers (address, country, speed and uptime). This is information about servers, not about you.
6. Advertising
The App is free and is paid for by ads from Google AdMob.
- Non-personalized only. Every ad request asks Google for non-personalized ads. The App does not ask for permission to track you, so Google does not receive your advertising identifier.
- Only while the VPN is off. Ads load and show only while the VPN is disconnected. Ad traffic never goes through the VPN tunnel, and ad SDKs cannot see traffic inside the tunnel.
- Optional rewards. Some features may offer to unlock something, such as high-bandwidth servers for a period of time, if you choose to watch an ad. Saying no never stops you from using the free service.
Google processes ad data under its own policies: How Google uses information from apps that use its services and the Google Privacy Policy.
7. How we use information
- To provide the service, including the server list, recommendations and fixes for broken servers
- To find and fix crashes and bugs
- To show ads that keep the App free, and to measure how they perform
- To protect the service against abuse and fraud
- To answer your support requests
We do not use information to build profiles of you, and we do not sell information to anyone.
If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or a similar jurisdiction, we process this information on the basis of our legitimate interests in running, securing and funding a free service. Where the law requires consent, we process it on the basis of your consent.
8. Who we share information with
We share information only with these service providers, and only for the purposes above:
- Google (Firebase Crashlytics, Google Analytics for Firebase and Google AdMob). See the Firebase privacy information.
- Apple, for App Attest verification and App Store services
- Our hosting providers, which store our servers' data on our behalf
We may also disclose information if the law requires it. Because we do not have data about your VPN activity, we cannot disclose any.
9. How long we keep information
| Information | Kept for |
|---|---|
| Crash reports | 90 days (Firebase Crashlytics) |
| App analytics | Up to 14 months, then deleted automatically |
| Server problem reports and ad reports | Up to 12 months |
| App integrity key | As long as the App installation uses it. It contains no personal information and cannot identify you. |
| Technical request data | Held in memory for rate limiting. Server logs are kept no longer than 30 days. |
| Ad data | Under Google's retention policies |
10. Your choices and rights
- Turn off crash reports with “Send Crash Reports” in the App's Settings.
- Don't send reports. Problem reports and ad reports are always optional.
- Remove the VPN configuration in iOS Settings › General › VPN & Device Management.
- Delete the App to remove all data stored on your device.
- Ask us. Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete or object to the processing of your data. Email support@vietts.io. We have no account to look you up by, so please include details that help us find the data, such as the date and time you sent a report.
- No account to delete. The App does not create accounts, so there is no account deletion process.
You may also complain to your local data protection authority.
11. Children
The App is not directed to children under 13, or under 16 in the European Economic Area. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
12. Security and international transfers
We use encrypted connections (HTTPS) between the App and our servers, and we limit who at VietTS can access our systems. VietTS is based in Vietnam. Our service providers may process information in other countries, including the European Union and the United States, with the safeguards those providers offer.
13. This website
This website does not use cookies, analytics or ads. Our hosting provider (Cloudflare) processes basic technical data such as IP addresses to deliver and protect the site.
14. Changes and contact
If we change this policy, we will update the effective date above. For significant changes, we will also tell you in the App. If you have a question about this policy or your data, contact:
